Libertad I is a quiet and cheerful three-bedroom apartment, with a décor combining rustic chic and a modern touch. Wood, beams and brickwork are a nod to rural charm in a decidedly urbanite context. And the result? An evocative mix, which makes for a warm and rather hipster home.

The property is on the third floor of a traditional-style building in calle Libertad, in Chueca, a neighbourhood that is forever young, one of the liveliest, more vibrant and diverse areas of Madrid, right in the city centre.

The entrance hall leads into a spacious living room: a large area with three balconies overlooking the street and a pretty open-plan kitchen. Light is everywhere. Kitchen, dining area and living area all share the same space, but are clearly separated by the rustic brickwork and wooden beams. Wood is also dominant everywhere, adding that chic rural touch to the décor: wooden floors, doors and windows, and purpose-built designer wooden furniture providing the warmth that only natural wood can bring.

The main living area has a sitting area with a TV, a comfortable sofa, coffee table, sound system and several chairs arranged around a built-in stove. Great details in the upholstered furniture, floor coverings and ancillary furniture, all refurbished for their new lease of life. There is a reading corner providing a theatrical touch, with a pretty French-style upholstered couch and an impressive lamp. There is plenty of storage space in the built-in cupboards, so nothing need ever be out of place.

The open-plan kitchen is modern and stylish, almost part of the décor! It provides plenty of space for cooking, and is equipped with high specification white goods and appliances. The floor is covered with pretty cement tiles and the dining table accommodates six people.

There is a guest toilet in the living area.

This is without a doubt a home to be lived in, perfect when travelling with friends or family, and perfect for longer stays when you don’t want to miss your own place. A holiday break in the comfort of a true home, in the very heart of Madrid!

The sleeping area opens off the living room, and comprises three bedrooms comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The master bedroom is almost spartan in its simplicity, the idea being to focus on rest and a good night’s sleep, helped, no doubt, by the luxurious king-size bed. It has an en-suite bathroom with rainfall shower, in a modern and colourful style.

The second bedroom also has a 160 x 200cm bed and spacious wardrobe. Bedroom three has a 140 x 200cm bed. A full bathroom with bath is shared between the two.

Located in the Barrio de Justicia, or Justice district, right in the heart of Madrid, Chueca has become one of the must-go areas of the city for both leisure and shopping, and is an example of tolerance and diversity. Its streets are busy all day, every day, and offer myriad options for eating, leisure, shopping or simply taking in the area´s vibrant cultural and everyday life. Only a short stroll from the calle Libertad will take you to Fuencarral and Gran Vía, the main tourist and cultural venues of the city centre, and also to Madrid’s financial district.

• Arrival and departure. Check-in is between 15:00 and 21:00; check-out by 11:00. Should you require to arrive or leave earlier or later, you must request this at the time of the booking. We will endeavour to accommodate your request; however, this will depend on availability, and an additional fee may be incurred.
• Cancellations. Cancelling more than 14 days prior to your arrival date will entitle you to a full refund. Cancelling between 7 and 14 days prior to arrival will entitle you to a refund of 50% and cancelling between 2 and 7 days will entitle you to a refund of 25%. Cancellations made less than 2 days in advance of the planned arrival date will mean that no refund can be given, and the full rental amount will be withheld.
  
• Additional information. The minimum stay we have in Madrid is 5 nights, and 7 nights over the Christmas period. The property is fully equipped, including high quality bedlinen and towels.
