"Feel like a modern-day aristocrat and breathe in the virtues of noble Seville in this stately 17th century Baroque house"
Memories, history and legend live peacefully side by side in this stately 17th century home, with green patios, Roman columns, terraces with a view and myriad other details in a priceless architectural, historic and artistic setting.
Casa Palacio San José is one of the best examples of stately palace houses in Seville. It has been lovingly restored whilst maintaining its original distribution to bring back the building’s old-time splendour, teaming up with modern tastes to offer guests an unforgettable experience. Rafael Manzano, renown classical architect who has in his credentials the restoration of Seville’s Royal Palace complex and the Alfonso XIII hotel, has had the honour of bringing all the essence of this fabulous and imposing 17th century Baroque stately home into the present day.
The house is accessed through an impressive front gate located in calle San José 7. A short, open hallway leads to the first patio and a covered furnished sitting area, crossing which you can access the house proper through a hall housing a fabulous staircase and lift leading to the apartments and rooftop terraces. Enthusiasts of both architecture and history will delight in the classical structural details, the large arcaded patio with Roman marble columns and fountains, generous terraces with exuberant greenery, and pergolas to keep the environment cool and sheltered.
San José IV is one of five independent apartments housed within this stately building. It is a bright and cheerful one-bedroom apartment located on the ground floor and accessed directly through the fabulous Andalusian patio, where guests can enjoy the murmur of its pretty marble fountain, Roman marble columns and lush greenery. There is an open-plan living area with sitting room, dining area and kitchen. Marble floors, high ceilings, traditional tiling and beautiful woodwork are evidence enough of the pedigree and history of this stunning architectural miracle you will be staying in.
The bedroom is equipped with a large 180 x 180 cm bed placed against a striking mural of traditional Sevillian ceramics, a beautiful antique wooden wardrobe, and a full en-suite bathroom.
The interior décor is a true example of style and good taste, providing the finishing touches to this home with a subtle combination of old Spanish-style furniture and more contemporary pieces.
And to top the experience, the terraces of Casa Palacio San José, to be found on the third floor. An oasis of green in the middle of the city, ideal for having breakfast, an evening al fresco with friends, some sunbathing in the solarium, complete with rainfall shower, or impressive views of the many terraces, dormers and bell gables of the Jewish district. The third floor also houses the shared laundry room, with washing machine and dryer. The apartments have hanging racks which are stored in the kitchens.
Located in the very heart of the city, just 5 minutes’ walk to the Cathedral and the Giralda, next to the Madre de Dios convent, Casa Palacio San José is a stunning property over three floors, with an area of more than 1000 square metres.
