Palacio Buenavista La Piscina

From 200€/night

"This two-bedroom duplex apartment with pool housed within a 17th century Sevillian palace home is a true privilege"

Description

his is all quite literal. The Palacio Buenavista, on calle Cano y Cueto, was built over an old inn where king Ferdinand III, also known as “the Saint”, stayed on the night before his triumphal entry into Seville (so the story goes). Today, this period Sevillian stately home with typical central patio, classified as a historic building and carefully restored this year, is evidence of the splendour and wealth of ideas of high-class domestic architecture of the time. And you can now enjoy this, your “home for one night”, as did king Ferdinand – or, indeed, stay for as long as you wish. It is, as we like to think of it, your “home away from home”.

And here are more reasons why you should stay: over 75m2 just for you and whoever you wish to bring with you, with two comfortable bedrooms, your own private patio, and your own pool. All the best qualities. Organic materials to make us feel good: wood, ceramics, glass, stone. And a minimalist interior to provide what is really essential: a sense of space and wellbeing.

The lower level, accessed via the palace’s central patio with its eight impressive wrought iron columns, houses the apartment’s shared areas: a spacious living and dining area equipped with a large sofa which converts into a double bed, coffee table and TV and a large wooden dining table seating six; and the open-plan kitchen, in a clean design with top end whitegoods and appliances and a breakfast bar. This lower level also has a guest bathroom, doubling as a laundry room

Outside, 30m2 of private patio, whitewashed, with a stone floor and a pool, as a modern interpretation of a typical alberca or water basin. You will be smitten at first sight and find it hard to resist.

The upper level houses the bedrooms, and a reading area which opens onto the building’s central courtyard or patio through a balcony.

The main bedroom is equipped with a large 180 cm double bed and a TV, the second bedroom with a 140 cm double bed. No resisting sleep here! Next to these, a full bathroom with shower.
