"With its porcelain and china, antiques and sumptuous textiles, this majestic apartment will take you back in time. Its aristocratic flavour and classical style will make your stay a truly memorable one"
This four bedroom apartment is aristocratic in every sense, housed as it is in a stately building in the very heart of the old Seville, lovingly restored to create a sense of immersion in the city’s past magnificence, where the concept of the good life was not far removed from our own sense of beauty and refinement today.
The owners of this property have a passion for antiques and the concept of classical luxury. They have created a richly ornamented and exuberant environment which envelops you the moment you cross the threshold. Rich detail is everywhere: in the plasterwork, mouldings and cornices which decorate the rooms, the stuccoed walls, the magnificent wooden floors, the elaborate woodwork and the mix of furniture encompassing traditional Spanish-style pieces, antiques, rich textiles, select tapestries and stunning carpets.
But essentially what the owners have created is a veritable home, a refuge in which to feel secure, comfortable, at peace. A home to be enjoyed quietly, or with friends to make the most of its spacious rooms, of the decorative details and many family treasures: furniture, works of art, a magnificent library.
The apartment has a living area comprising a main living room, library and sitting area, and a dining room for special occasions. All three rooms have natural light and flow into each other through large openings with double doors. Each of the rooms has been lovingly decorated with exquisite taste to highlight the main architectural elements of the apartment, such as the textured plaster ceilings, and the elaborate paintwork, which affords a stately air and a unique personality to each. Of special note are the ceilings, finished with elaborate borders of floral or geometrical design or mouldings.
The generous library looks onto a magnificent outer terrace via a large French window which fills the room with natural light, making this a bright, cheerful space in which to enjoy a lively discussion, some quiet reading time, or relaxation in front of the TV. It is fitted with a complete sound and audio system, and, of course, a book collection with volumes of great interest. Not to forget comfortable sofas and chairs for enjoying a quiet afternoon in.
The second living room, even larger and more luxurious, is decorated in the same classical style with a pretty selection of Spanish and French-style furniture, the walls covered with prints, still lifes and oil paintings. There are two large identical sofas facing each other, with a beautiful wooden table in the middle, and a third two-seater sofa upholstered in red velvet gives the whole a very theatrical air. Oriental carpets and floral tapestries provide a pretty contrast.
The luxurious dining room has a Spanish-style dining table for ten, an impressive chandelier and a large decorative chimney, all of which reinforce the palace-like charm of this property. Both the second living room and the dining room have access to the terrace.
The sleeping area has three double bedrooms and one single room.
The master bedroom is a very personal space where colour is key. Papered walls create character, and each piece of furniture tells its own story. A highlight is the bedroom set, comprising two twin beds, bedside tables and chest of drawers, all in pretty painted wood. A spacious dresser and a full en-suite bathroom with bath complete this luxurious sleeping space.
The second and third bedroom have both got access to the exterior terrace and have two wooden double beds. The single bedroom is interior and has a bed of 90cm x 200cm.
All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.
The large terrace is a true breath of fresh air, ideal for enjoying the marvellous temperatures prevalent all year round in Seville. It is furnished with contemporary-style outdoor furniture, of the highest quality, and wrought iron chairs.
